Marvel Heroes: The Complete Avengers Trading Cards - Rittenhouse Archives

JOSEF RUBINSTEIN

Josef immigrated to the US from Israel when he was 5 years old and his cousin had a bunch of comic books. Since he didn’t speak the language, he was more or less attracted to the pictures and, like all kids, he drew pictures and he wanted to be an artist, and that persisted. He went to the Arts Students League at 13 years old in New York where he lived and his art teacher was Hal Fosters Son, Arthur Foster.

Josef's idol at the time was Neil Adams and he met him at a comic book convention when he was 13. Josef asked if he could work at his and Dick Giordano's studio at the time, Continuity Associates. We’re talking 1971 or ‘72 and he became their assistant. Then when Josef was 17 years old, he became a freelance artist and that was 31 years ago. He has worked for every major Comics company and has the Guinness record for having inked more penciler than any other inker because of his inking THE OFFICIAL HANDBOOK OF THE MARVEL UNIVERSE.

Multiple copies of each card exists, but no more than 10 of any card.
