Actually I have asked this before and Steve said there is a Brent Spiner Data signed for a future release. So that is good news :-)

RE: ask Steve Charendoff
Hello, are there any Next Generation green design autos in the future? Such as a Brent Spiner Data. There are cards of his as Lore or Noonien Soong and Sherlock Holmes, but no Data.

I could not find the broken link Seska was referring to either. What I was referring to is the "Release Schedule" section, yesterday it had listed Enterprise for December 12 release , today it doesn't have it at all. It's great news about Enterprise :-) I hope there will also be some full bleed autograph style cards like Season 4 release had, those where really nice.

RE: ask Steve Charendoff
Can you tell me more specifically what you are seeing that's not correct on the website? Feel free to email me at steve@scifihobby.com, with any links to what you are seeing. That said, we are making an Enterprise factory set for December release, so that will predate the release of the Discovery cards (which will be a full foil pack series). The Enterprise webpage will be up shortly, so you'll see what's in store. Theme is the Quotable Enterprise. But there's more to it.

Seska. I saw it on the release schedule of the website. I got excited about the prospect of another Trek release before Discovery, but now it's been removed from the release schedule section :-( so who knows....Steve??? ;-)

RE: ask Steve Charendoff
RE: ST Legends I think that movie versions of the original cast would be great - Kirk in TMP through Generations, everyone else in TMP through Undiscovered Country. I wouldn't mind a few sets that cover the JJ verse cast either. The only villain I can think of who would deserve a 9 card set of their own would be Khan, but you could also do sets with important characters or villains from the movies who get three cards each - TMP could have Decker and Ilia, TWOK could have Khan, David, and Carol Marcus, etc. This is my favorite card set ever, I would keep buying them as long as you keep doing them.

Re ST Legends, that's a good question. Honestly, I had just put this topic on the back burner, but now that you mention it, I will give some consideration for the next batch. We are contemplating adding in key villains and other key recurring characters, as well as the movie versions of the characters and ST Disco. Happy to take suggestions.

Hey Steve, potential TOS signers that have not signed yet and are still with us : Frank Atienza was in 'The Omega Glory' as Khon Villager . And , John Copage was in 'The Doomsday Machine' as Lieutenant Elliott. Not sure if you got them already and not released yet, but Ted Legarde from 'I, Mudd' passed away this year on August 2nd, and Don Eitner from 'Charlie X' passed away this year on March 9th.

The release schedule through the end of the year and even beyond has been pretty consistent; I think it's safe to say Discovery will be the next Trek set. I, for one, cannot wait for The Orville... tbh

My brother met Robert Englund once and he was super cool w his fans. Thank you Steve for the incredible Star Trek TOS autos of the Captains Collection. I look forward to adding all of them to my collection which began in decades ago! So much fun to add and appreciate over time. I like to treat myself if I put in some overtime at work. LOL as the young ones say.

The Twin Peaks autographs look great! Can't wait for them to be released next week. I'm curious, though, there is an image of a Peggy Lipton and Everett McGill dual that is listed as Peggy Lipton and Chris Mulkey. Will there also one with Mulkey or is it just this one with McGill?

Tradingcarddb, has images of 2 Tom Cruise Trading cards out there, one from 2003, and one other from Upper Deck 2010, the image of the upper deck one is Mission Impossible "themed" Use link below to see the cards : https://www.tradingcarddb.com/GalleryP.c fm/pid/118835/Tom-Cruise

RE: ask Steve Charendoff
I do not believe that is true. There is a company in the UK called HMV that just released about 30 1980s films on VHS tapes, to give them retro-looks, and one of them is TOP GUN. Each of the 30 comes with a trading card. The Top Gun card shows Cruise giving his thumbs up. So he's on at least 1 trading card

I think I have mentioned this before to Steve but I would like to see a really cool KISS trading card set. Press Pass did a couple a few years back but they just didnt do anything for me. The KISSignatures set was cool with Gene, Paul, Ace and Peter but I think Rittenhouse could knock a KISS set out of the park! I could even see the inserts of autos of all the current and previous members, costumes, picks, etc.

RE: ask Steve Charendoff
I recently noticed a thread about ideas for new sets. I don't know if you're looking for any but, I have a few. Shaun Of The Dead's 15th anniversary is coming up in 2019. I love that movie and would a set of autographs for the whole cast and director. A Nightmare On Elm Street's 35th anniversary is in 2019 as well. That is another set of cast autographs I would like.

Speaking of set ideas. This would be a cool insert concept . Sculpted Sketch Cards, check out Mick and Matt Glebes work https://m.facebook.com/story.php? story_fbid=1700572040002714&id=301132996 613299&_rdr just jaw dropping!!! Imagine a card with the USS Enterprise popping out! If this ever happens it would have to be a redemption card, even though I don't like redemptions :-p . If the link doesn't work, Google search : "Glebe Sculpted Sketch Card: Symbiont's Revenge" and you will see what I am talking about.

A while ago I had suggested they do a Scorcese Collection, based on all his movies, kink of like the Bond run, this way they try and get all of our favourite actors and actresses that started in all his movies. But I think the logistics of that would be too hard.

RE: ask Steve Charendoff
Yes, he does all the fan stuff at premieres, in the old days fans used to hang about for hours waiting to see royalty like Britney Spears, who would get out of their limo wave and go straight in the theatre, that's unheard of now because of Tom Cruise, he meets and greets, does auto's and selfies and say's hi to someone on someone's phone and celebs follow his lead, but his image is not allowed on merchandise.

RE: ask Steve Charendoff
If such set is ever made and he doesn't want his image used on the card, maybe a card can be made with a Mission Impossible logo on it instead of his image and he can sign that. Still better then nothing.

RE: ask Steve Charendoff
Don't know if he will allow his image on a trading card or not, but I know that he is a good autograph signer. Has been one of the best for years, actually for decades. Many in person collectors I know have never had an issue getting him. If you can get close to him he will sign, regardless if only 5 people in the crowd or 500.

RE: ask Steve Charendoff
There is not one action figure of Tom Cruise, think about it, this is a fact, he's great to fans, he is the reason ''stars'' mingle with fans at premieres, but is image is not allowed on products outside stuff like posters, anyway, if Tom Cruise is going to appear on trading cards, it's going to be my fantasy set called the complete Stanley Kubrick ;)

RE: ask Steve Charendoff
What makes you say that ? His image is used on everything else related to his movies? And going by the sheer number of autographed photos on ebay (at least some of which must be legit) he's not against signing autographs either ? Even if it were the case, the card set licence would be with the studio I guess, so him approving the use of his image mightn't be an issue. And cut auto's for Cruise himself might even be possible. There are also a lot of other names from the franchise who have signed for card releases, Pegg, Renner, Thandie Newton etc

RE: ask Steve Charendoff
With the new movie just out, has any thought ever been given to a set (or set series) on the Mission Impossible franchise ? Something along the lines of the James Bond releases ? There'd be a lot of names from all the movies to chase, some who have signed for other sets, and maybe there's a chance to include some from the TV series as well ?

And yes, we plan to do more inscription autographs in the future. My only regret with this is that we never had Leonard Nimoy sign inscriptions - what I wouldn't give to have a card signed by him with "Live Long and Prosper" on it. Sigh....

RE: ask Steve Charendoff
For the TOS inscriptions, many suggestions came from me, but just as a starting point. I encouraged the actors to add other inscriptions if they wanted to, and many of them did. Sean Kenney turned it into something really wild, because he made almost every card different. Sean is awesome!

Still working on the cuts, but it will likely be around a dozen for Susan Oliver and about 30 for Vic Tayback.

Maurishka Taliaferro who played Yeoman Zahra would be an autograph card I would like. However I believe she is another person who has dropped off the radar.

We've confirmed through a couple of very reliable sources that Victoria Vetri is not the woman who plays Isis in Assignment: Earth. Seems to be a mystery as to who exactly that woman is. Nobody seems to know.

According to her close friend who runs her Facebook page Angela Dorian aka Victoria Vetri, there's a post dated 07/3/17. It states Ms. Vetri said that she was never in Star Trek and that photo of Isis in human form is not her. She states that she never even followed the show.

For the TOS . Is the numbering correct? There is two times A293 and no A297, also in the checklist you have Sandy Gimpel as A298, but on the main page with the pictures you have her as A293. Is it safe to assume the missing numbers from the inscriptions are being saved for a future set?

"There's somewhere around 20 or so classic TOS autos" INCREDIBLE! It has been a pleasure to add cards (slowly) to my collection over the past 20+ years since the original Skybox series. This set ensures I will be adding many great auto cards for a very long time. Thanks very much for your continued dedication to the original Star Trek. Dave

There's somewhere around 20 or so classic TOS autos, about a dozen of so Inscription autos, and a handful of the others. My guess is probably closer to 50 different, when we figure it all out. Still working on it.

Yes, Twin Peaks had to be pushed back. Bizarre circumstances (almost right out of the show itself) have caused a delay. Among other things, mudslides and earthquakes in Hawaii. Sorry for the delay, but I really didn't want to start putting redemption cards in the product, especially since it seemed likely that we could get the cards released this summer in any case.

It would be cool if the main cast has many inscription variations and not just the guest stars. Not sure if the inscriptions are only quotes from the show and character names. But an 'Ohhh Myyyyy!' George Takei inscription would be cool. Or even a Japanese autograph, he does that at conventions.

The rumour was just wishful thinking on my part :-p can't wait for these either. Dang, too bad :-( no Leonard Nimoy inscriptions, he was always nice when I saw him at conventions. I got him to sign a IDW comic book with him on the cover from the 2009 movie, where he added 'Live long and Prosper' with his signature, and wrote every word out, not just 'LLAP' as well as a Star Trek CCG Spock card where he added 'Spock' under his signature. I regret not getting more items with inscriptoons signed back then.

Release date for TOS Captain's Collection is still July 25th. Not sure where the rumor about a date change came from. Very excited, though, for this set. The variations in the inscription autographs are really great! We will start to post those soon. But most of them have at least 10 or more variations of different kinds - memorable quotes, character names, episode titles, etc. Wish I had thought of doing this sooner, when more of the cast were alive. Nimoy was always so great with us, and I regret not having him do this sort of card with "Live Long and Prosper" written with his signature. I miss that guy. I think we all do.

On a different note from Star Trek. In regards to upcoming releases and IDEAS for new releases. How about collectors sets for "horror" movies from the 80's to today.. such as 'Friday the 13th' and 'Nightmare on Elm Street'. Robert Englund i.e. Freddy and many of the various actors that potraid Jason constantly do conventions, as well as many of the other actors from those movies, I'm sure it's two sets that would have many willing signers.

Seska :-p I think once you see and hold one of those inscription cards live, you will change your mind. They are amazing the way the are, new format and all. Time to start something new :-) I'm kind of hoping there is a Shatner / Kirk inscription one. The proportion of space to sign on and inscribe, to the space left for the image was well thought out.

I am disappointed to say that I do not agree. Love the TOS format autograph card images. Hate the color scheme and images for the inscription autographs. I guess I was hoping the inscription autographs would be in the same format as the TOS ones... maybe with pictures similar to the dual autographs and a larger space to write in. Another new format just seems ridiculous at this point. This also leads me to believe that I will not like the Twilight Zone inscription autographs if they are anything like this, When you have a great thing, stick with it,

Is it possible when a release has more then one archives box, i.e. Box A , Box B and even Box C in some cases, to indicate it in the checklist of the release? This way potential buyers of Archive boxes know this and became aware that a release has more the one archive box to be considered complete. And if possible indicate on the checklists what is in each of the archive box parts. Thank you.

Hello, thank you for DS9 heroes and villains, great set. I was wondering about some other actors from the show and the possibly for cards of their characters in the future. Ken Marshall, Phillip Anglim, Tiny Ron, William Lucking, Michael Keenan, Faith Salie, Tim Ransom, Richard Beymer, & Frank Langela. And perhaps cut cards for Brock Peters and John Colicos.

Will the new TOS have any more cut signatures? A dual Ricardo Montalban / Madlyn Rhue cut would be cool, maybe as a booklet type card so both can fit.

TOS sounds incredible. I am really excited for this set and we've barely gotten the details. I was reluctant about inscription autographs when I first saw them with another company, but I cannot wait to see them in Star Trek and Twilight Zone. And Where No Man Has Gone Before, another one of my favorite episodes. Sally Kellerman and Gary Lockwood!!

TOS Captain's Collection will be a regular foil pack product. Lots of the classic TOS autographs (I think we're up to A300); lots of inscription autographs; and many other very cool, new features that we've not done with TOS before. Oh, and a full set of bonus cards (like we did for The Cage and Mirror, Mirror) for Where No Man Has Gone Before. I think it's about 70 cards for that episode alone. Nice!

Once upon a time Steve had said, that TOS won't be done in boxed sets. Therefore I don't believe it will be a boxed set. I just hope it won't have 9 archive box exclusive autograph cards, 1 is just fine :)

Twin peaks is a dream for me, fantastic cast autographs, remember them all as a fan, inc Kenneth Welsh and Gary Hershberger, also excited by the ''and more'' at the bottom, (Ronette Pulaski maybe ?) it's really nice to see Sheriff Truman (Michael Ontkean)listed, wasn't expecting him, I'm in for this big time.

Well its not a TOS actor but I guess an original idea. Adam Nimoy (Leonards son) is a director/actor and did the documentary film "For The Love of Spock" - I have no idea how much interest there would be in his autograph for a set, but figured I'd put it out there. ----------------- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/For_the_Love_of_Spock

If there are any other TOS actors or even BTS people who you know are still alive and have not yet signed cards for us, please pass along those names, especially if you know how I might contact them. In this new age of social/digital media, it's becoming easier to find people, but with the TOS cast, the issue is generally whether they are still alive at this point.

Dang. That's weird. I guess you could always send a message to the member who got the signed index card and ask them how/when they got it. Her father worked for the Honolulu newspaper - maybe that's a lead? https://www.newspapers.com/newspage/260606812/ and here is a Diana Ewing in the whitepages in Honolulu and the age matches up https://www.whitepages.com/name/Diana-F-Ewing/Honolulu-HI/bbrbe46 Who knows?

Hey Steve - I decided to do a google search and see if she had a fan mail address and see if anyone tried to send her anything to get signed over the years Apparently someone got something signed in 2012 but the address is on a members only site (I'm not a member) https://www.startiger.com/l?i=73919 This could be your shot at finding her address - there is a scan of a signed index card there too

RE: ask Steve Charendoff
The trouble with Diana Ewing is that she sort of disappeared. Years ago somebody saw a picture of the Diana Ewing that lives in Costa Rica and put it out on the internet claiming it was the actress when it's not. Those Ewings are apparently a couple from Colorado and ever since that happened, people keep on writing her with things to sign to the point a niece posted on a forum to stop sending stuff. People forget the most important factor. Diana Ewing (the actress) used the name Ewing in 1968. She was married to Charles Shyer in 1969. The girl who lives in Costa Rica has the last name of Ewing because that was her husband's last name and not because it was her original name. You might be able to get a lead to the actress through Charles Shyer who apparently was married to her acting career.

Pretty sure that most of the new signers are from Season 7. Possible that some might be from Seasons 5 or 6, but I'd have to check. The episodes and season start to flow together, as the storylines are so fluid, and of course, many characters return from previous seasons.

Hi, Steve, Thanks for the info! Sounds like it will be a great set . . . hoping that you're considering character cards for the base set (a la Game of Thrones), although with as many characters as they had just in the revival, you'd have to be selective. Also, it seems like there's lots of possibilities for some interesting insert sets. Looking forward to this one . . .

This sounds like a dream come true as a fan of the original series, but just wandering though, I see Everett McGill on the list, Killifer from Licence To Kill ;)

Awesome news about Twin Peaks! If anyone knows how to find Eric it's probably one of the members on the Dugpa site. Their forum has a vast wealth of Twin Peaks information of all kinds. I remember reading on there several years ago that Harry Goaz (Deputy Andy) and Eric Da Re were particularly elusive and always shied away from doing any of the Twin Peaks conventions.

RE: ask Steve Charendoff
For Twin Peaks, we are planning to have synopses and photos for every one of the original episodes, as the title suggests, plus the same for the recent season that just finished airing in 2017. We have commitments for autograph cards of nearly everyone in the starring cast - Kyle Mac., Sheryl Lee, Sherilynn Fenn, James Marshall, Everett McGill, Peggy Lipton, Wendy Robie, and even autographs from David Lynch and David Duchovny! Trying to track down Eric Da Re (aka Leo Johnson), so if anyone knows how to find him, let me know.

Is there any chance of a Blade Runner set ? One that could possibly combine both films ? Lots of recognizable actors from both films and Harrison Ford has been a regular signer for Star Wars and even did Ender's Game.

Steve, quick question regarding the Beyond Zoe Saldana autograph cards. I personally have no doubt as to the authenticity or anything like that. (I even like this 2017 Saldana classic style autograph, better then the 2009 one). But I have been asked by a couple of people if i know why they are so different from her 2009 Star Trek release , and also different from the Guardians of the Galaxy 2014 sticker autograph cards she did for another company. Is there any reason why she chose to vary her signature?

The only Quotable style auto we have is Siddig, but still contemplating how we will use this one. There are two wormhole style autos - Andrea Martin and Susanna Thompson, who signed those card about 10 years ago, but it was too late to include them in the last DS9 set. So we've been sitting on them for all this time, waiting for the right moment to use them.

I just noticed at the bottom of every online checklist, past or present, is the following: Insertion rates represent an average across the entire production run. There are no guarantees within any individual box or case. I always thought the autograph insertion was guaranteed with Rittenhouse? Is this to catch the occasional anomaly? Or is this something I never noticed before, or just forgot about? Just curious...

RE: ask Steve Charendoff
Absolutely gutted to read that the Bond 40th Anniversary and Women of Bond autographs will no longer be produced. A 15 year success story torn up on the whim of an employee of the studio who seems not to understand what trading cards are all about, let alone the attachment of the collectors to the product! And so much for the sense of legacy and continuity that the Bond producers boast of in interviews about the franchise! X is quite right. The Bond 40th and WOB cards ooze Bond style, contrary to the full-bleeds which are little more than signed miniature stills in my opinion. Trading cards are designed, composite images, and not mere photographs - which are a whole other product and market. Sadly, this decision will mark the end of me collecting Bond autograph cards as the continuity in the style was what kept me loyal and keen to follow each release. Without that, my interest is all but extinguished. But I can at least take comfort from the fact that I have a great collection of autographs, which covers the first 23 Bond films pretty comprehensively. and for that I am grateful to you, Steve, and all the people at Rittenhouse who have worked on your Bond products since 2002!

I am sorry these 2 styles have stopped, it is a shame for the collector, but as a Bond fan who helped to try and push the full bleed style (although that sounds like I'm claiming I started the Diva revolution) you can only imagine what it would be like to own a Geoffrey Keen, Robert Brown, Michael Billington, Joe Robinson, Vincent Schiavelli and Zena Marshall (who recently passed)full bleed card, no Dr Kaufman or Miss Taro :( plus the likes of Mie Hama,Barbara Bach and Ursula Andress who are looking like one time only, not to mention all the minor part signers who (if I'm right in saying) have no resolution image to make a full bleed possible, this is the set I look forward to the most from any set, and happy to say I own every different character from each movie to date and hope it continues.

RE: ask Steve Charendoff
Thanks for confirming the info about the WOB cards Steve, such a shame. Don't get me wrong, I do get their stance despite not agreeing with it. When I first saw the 40th style autos back in 2002, I felt the actor pics were too small, and was disappointed this motif was carried over onto WOB. That said, I came to love the gun-barrel design of 40th cards with the '007' imprint in the background, and the maroon girl silhouette taken from one of the best Bond movie posters ever (The World Is Not Enough teaser), plus the fantastic film title fonts, unique to each movie, used on both card styles. All those years ago I was one of the collectors asking for bigger pictures via the full-bleeds and was very happy we got them. I do enjoy collecting them for the often stunning use of photos... Richard Kiel (Moonraker) and Pierce Brosnan (GoldenEye) being two of my absolute favourites of strong looking run of cards. But as classy as they are in their minimalism, the full-bleeds just don't feel and look as 'Bondian' as the 40th and Women of Bond series. Not only that, but the sheer breadth and comprehensiveness of 40th of WOB, that feature so many key and deceased signers, makes them the definitive Bond autograph cards. The full-bleeds were always the nice extra in my eyes. You've gotta think the people in charge of the licence aren't collectors, because whichever style one might prefer, how can less choice of designs to offer the market, and cutting off two series people have been collecting for 15 years, ever be a good thing for anyone. I hope you are right and they reconsider. I just worry about signers who agree to sign full-bleeds not being obtainable at a later date for 40th or WOB cards. Rosamund Pike, Rick Yune, Mie Hama, Zena Marshall and Barbara Bach immediately spring to mind as awesome once-and-done signers. So annoyed more could be potential missed on all the formats collectors want. Nonetheless, I am grateful for all the amazing cards you have given us already and I will always look forward to more Bond autos from Rittenhouse, whatever they look like, and whenever that may be. And in the full-bleed only meantime, one more request from me for a Lazenby FB with blue jumpsuit pic ;)

Re Lost In Space, Juan Ortiz has created some incredible artwork for all of the episodes and for the starring cast of characters. Brilliant work. There are nearly 100 new pieces of art. Plus, we are putting together new autograph cards, cut signature cards, metal cards, color sketch cards, etc. Very excited for this set.

Re the Bond autos, the studio really only wants us to use the full bleed design, despite our pleas to the contrary. I share your thoughts about the 40th and WOB style cards. With that said, these decisions are sometimes flexible and changing over time, so I would never consider this a permanent situation. The person in charge today may not be the same person in charge down the road, so you never know.

Thank you for sharing info on the Bond licensor stipulations Steve, I'm sure not what anyone wanted to hear, but good to know what is happening nonetheless. I can't overstate what a shame it is that one of the best, and most comprehensive, autograph card series of all time has been prevented from receiving further additions. I dare not ask, but does this also mean the similarly old Women of Bond auto style is dead in the water?

@charliex, that WOULD be great, although I have to wonder how much access Rittenhouse will have to items from the original series (it WAS about 25 years ago). I'd be happy enough with a swatch from Mr. C.'s nasty old leather jacket :-)

RE: the studio's insistence on phasing out a style of autograph card: It always fascinates me to find out about the licensing and approval process. Honestly, the more glimpses you see behind the scenes, the less any of it makes sense. What possibly do they think they're protecting by that kind of mandate? I'm amazed you don't tear your hair out over stuff like that, Steve; I've talked with a few other (smaller) card producers about the approval process, and it seems so arbitrary as to drive one insane . . .

Wow! THRILLED to come across The Complete Twin Peaks set when I checked the Release Schedule page today. For a quarter of a century, Twin Peaks fans have had to make do with only the 1991 Star Pics boxed set, but after a summer's worth of OMG moments with The Return, I can't wait to see what you'll do with this license. I know that the conversation around here is usually 95 percent "Whose autographs will be featured?" but I hope that you'll explore a lot of graphic avenues with The Complete Twin Peaks, for a show that's featured so much arresting and iconic imagery. Please keep us posted, Steve!

Hi, Have you ever approached Barbara Broccoli or Michael G Wilson for a bond autograph card? I would be interested in both. Michael G Wilson would be able to sign as an actor, as well as a producer. I was lucky enough to meet them both at a bond event a couple of years ago and both were happy to autograph a book I had.

The studio insisted that we phase out of those 40th style cards. I will admit the full bleed autographs are nicer, but we had 15 years of history with the 40th style autos, and I would have liked to continue the run, especially since we were already winding things down.

Kinda sucks about the American Gods, was looking forward to a Crispin Glover Autograph card. I guess we can't have it all...my biggest dream on non Star Trek releases, is if you ever got to make a Scorsese movies cards sets, based on all his movies through the decades, kind of like the James Bond release. Just imagine dual autograph Taxi Driver cards Deniro/ Foster, dual Goodfellas Casino, Pesci/Deniro, dual Last Temptation of Christ Keitel/ Dafoe...not to even mention the more Modern Scorsese movies..Nicholson/Damon/Dicaprio etc... lol, yep I know it is just a dream and not something feasible..

Glad to hear that there will also be another TOS set :-) Just when I was wondering what else can be done creatively with TOS, it's cool to hear that it will be William Satner / James T. Kirk focused, you should do that for every main character. In my opinion there should be a TOS release every year :-), I know it is not possible though. Will the dual William Shatner / Yvonne Craig autograph card be released in this one?

Regrettably, the studio could not deliver the assets we needed to make this work, so we've removed it from our plans. That could change at some point in the future, but it also appears that the show may not be back until 2019.

We are also planning a TOS Set that will focus on Captain Kirk. Some very cool concepts for this set are in the works, including a bonus set that will likely be about 50 cards just for Kirk's first episode, the second pilot, "Where No Man Has Gone Before". Very cool!

RE: ask Steve Charendoff
We're on hiatus with James Bond at this point, but my hope would be that we would eventually fill in those holes. Our plan at this point is simply to wait until there is another movie before thinking about making another set of James Bond cards. The reality is that we've just reached a point at which there aren't enough meaningful assets - new autograph card signers, new props or costumes, etc. - and I simply do not want to squeeze out another set of cards that really doesn't deserve to be made, just for the sake of it. Other companies might do that, but as a collector, too, I like to think that I have a greater conscience about these things. If we can't make a worthwhile product, then we won't. It's just that simple.

Steve, the autograph cards in Star Trek Beyond release, that you have used the classic movies design. Does the numbering continue from the classic movies last release, or do they start at A1 on their own?

Hey Steve, I'm assuming the upcoming Star Trek Beyond release will be a mix of that and the previous 2 'new' movies . With that said, i was wondering if you got Winona Ryder to sign any Trek cards from the 2009 movie? Or is it still a firm no from her? only asking again, because I saw that Celebrity Authentics is doing a singing with her, they are pre-selling now and they even have some Star Trek Photos of her, therefore I thought if they could get her, that maybe you did also.

I would like to second that request for a Susan Gibney in the TNG format, as well as ask if there will be any TOS format autograph cards in future sets. I understand the reality of time being a factor and that so many people have already signed. With Sandy Gimpel and Joan Swift signing a couple years back, I'm hoping for a few more.

The set can include signers such as Martin Scorsese, Harvey Keitel, Robert Deniro, Joe Pesci ... many others that have been in his movies. Re Star Trek TV shows and movies being mixed together, we have always had the ability (and have done so on occasion) to mix the TV shows with the "classic" movies. What we cannot do is mix the newer (Chris Pine/Zachary Quinto) movies with the classic movies or with the TV series. The newer movies are a separate entity in terms of product creation and marketing. Wish it weren't so.

Everyone knows I am up for another Twilight Zone release, even if it's just a small expansion set. Though I did just buy an archive box of the 50th anniversary set since I missed it the first time around, and I must say I am thoroughly disappointed at how sloppy most of my autographs are. I guess you have to expect it since these actors are getting on in years... Susan Harrison signed about 1/2 way up the card on the one I pulled... mostly over her picture and not in the big white space provided... Geesh!!!

The WOST Costume Card design is really nice :). Even though I like continuity in expanding sets, I have to say, making the costume card design different from the previous WOST release was a great idea. They look much nicer. Too bad there isn't though one card in the old design just so it can fill the number gap :-p.

RE: ask Steve Charendoff
I hope that the Shima auto will not be limited to 20 and only an Archive Box exclusive. If it is, then that auto is going to go right into the hands of the collectors who are buying the Box to get the Connery auto, and the rest of us have no chance of getting it. If the Shima auto will be as rare as the Connery, will we have to pay thousands of dollars for it ? As for the plates, a dealer is advertising that his Archive Box will have 1 Archive Box exclusive printing plate set of 4, used to make a Die Another Day base card. That is what it says

There are no printing plate cards for Die Another Day. I have no doubt that any exclusive cards will find their way into the market, as dealers routinely break these down and sell the single cards.

Nothing against Denise Crosby, but she has a Quotable style autograph and a Silver signature style autograph. Her character Tasha Yar was only in a handful of episodes. What about Wesley, O'Brien, Pulaski, Ro and even Guinan. They are as much a part of TNG as anyone. The same can be said for Kes being upstaged by Seven of Nine and not getting a black gallery metal card.

Some thoughts about James Bond. Cards A291 and A294 are not assigned, suggestions could be Maryam d'Abo and Dave Bautista or Roger Moore "Octopussy" I've counted about 28 plus 40th styles that haven't been made into full bleeds. I'd rather have a full bleed from an actor with a small role than 3 or 4 from the same actor. Any chance of : Jeremy Bulloch (FYEO) Jesper Christensen (CR) John Cleese (TWINE) Shane Rimmer (YOLT) Or the 3 remaining Pierce Brosnan films 40th styles

Hi Steve I've been buying your cards since the first Twilight Zone release back when the world was black and white.just thought a mystery product release would be nice.i can imagine you must have a huge vault full of cool stuff just sitting there Replacement autos held back due to potential damages, autos that where to late back to be included in the release or those few auto cards where there is little or no chance of a further big release(Twilight Zone and Outer Limits spring to mind)plus all the case and multi case incentives that you may have. Your thoughts Steve

Steve, It has been awhile since the last 9 card "Legends of Star Trek" serial numbered expansion sets has been released. Any plans for more of these in the future? Also......any other Star Trek products on the horizon? Thanks!

We have tried many times to get the license for the 1960's Adam West Batman TV series, but Warner Bros. and DC Comics seemed determined not to see that happen. I don't understand, but I accept it. We've even had the agents for Adam West, Burt Ward and other actors try to persuade WB/DC to allow it, but no luck.

Unfortunately, Richard Kiel passed away before we could have him sign those particular cards. He would have done it, though. He was a great guy - very nice, very cooperative. A true gentle giant.

It's exciting to see another autograph from Richard Kiel but I was hoping for a Moonraker 40th anniversary style, any chance of that card existing

RE: ask Steve Charendoff
Thanks for the reply. Your policy makes sense - why announce something if you don't have the license in hand? There was another card company that was supposed to do a Batman '66 set that never materialized (don't know the current status) but was bummed when it was taken off "Upcoming Release" list. That of course gets me to thinking that Batman '66 would be an awesome RA license! A "Green Hornet" chase set and/or an extension to the original set released chase set (like you did with LIS) would be bat- tastic! :)

Since May will be here before we know it... Will we be hearing more info about the next Bond set soon? Including whether it's the final James Bond set you're doing, or if it's just the final set using the Archives name?

Hi Steve, Am guessing you've probably tried to get Mie Hama back to sign Bond autograph cards in 40th Anniversary and Full Bleed style cards but not managed so far. Now might be a good time to try again as she seems to be venturing a little bit into the public domain: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/03/03/movies/going-from-bond-girl-to-a-normal-life.html Sadly, I don't have an address but maybe these people can help? They seem to have contact with her: http://www.icjc.jp/calendar/mie-hama Am pretty sure Bond collectors would love to have the opportunity to own another autograph card from this leading lady from You Only Live Twice. I certainly would! :)

Hi Steve, Thats good to hear, now can I also ask if these upcomming sets (woman of, Beyond, Discovery) will also go "back" to being "regular" release sets meaning no parrelsets and no cut autographs? The last few sets were a bit heavy on either parreles or cut autos.

We are continuously exploring new opportunities for TV shows, movies and more. As a matter of policy, we don't discuss those opportunities publicly until we've reached license agreements, but I'm excited about the prospects ahead of us. We should have some announcements soon. Thanks for asking!

DS9 will be pushed back to 2018, but we're very excited about this set. We've already gotten some very cool first-time signers on board, but I'm not revealing any names just yet. Stay tuned.

Steve - where will RA be going in 2017 and beyond in terms of licensing? Personally, only Bond holds an interest for me and even there I haven't collected much lately. I know in the past you tried to branch into other fandoms (ie, Irwin Allen) with limited success. Any hints where you might be headed? Thanks.

Yes, the next set will be our Women of Star Trek 50th Anniversary set in July. Star Trek Beyond will be at end of the year. And Star Trek Discovery (new TV series) will likely be in early 2018.

Hi Steve Your use of the word Final in the title of the new Bond Archives set coming in May 2017 has many up in arms. Could you please confirm if this will be the final Bond set for RA (as some, including me, are fearing), or is it just the final Bond Archives Set? Also, are there any plans for another Bond Rewards card or item? Thanks Ben

Steve, the RC1 Kirk, and the RC2 Spock, are those cards made from actual worn costumes by William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy, that where cut up to make the cards? Or are they made from roll of fabric that was used back in those days to make the costumes/uniforms they wore

Hi Steve, I think a good idea for future TNG format autograph cards would be to include some of the artists and designers similar to the cards of behind the scenes talents in the TOS format. I'm sure there are more actors that will be found but I am also appreciative of the people behind the camera. This might not be super popular with the person that gets 2 director / writer autographs in their box but if the entire series includes only 3-4 signers, I think everyone will be cool. Or not. Going back to TOS format...I certainly hope that I can look forward to cards signed by Joan Swift and Sandy Gimple.

Redemption cards for the cuts???? are yiu serious??? Whats next, sticker autographs? That really sucks!! I find its two step backs from the greatness RA had achieved. My province in Canada is even excluded from being able to redeem, if I am lucky enough to even pull one before the end of 2017. Really disappointed.

Oh ok, I hope you do, apparently she is not a big autograph signer, back when I used to read the Autograph Collector magazine, she had made it a few years in a row on the top 10 worst singers list. But you have had luck with many difficult to get people signing, so fingers crossed. :-) How about Sean Connery for Bond?

The title of the next movie card set hasn't been finalized, but it will primarily feature ST Beyond. As with the last movie card set, we combined elements of the previous film. This new set will feature some cards from the other two J.J. Abrams' Star Trek movies. There's always more we want to accomplish with the current and past films and this is the best way to do that.
